Scar therapy is a specialised gentle manual treatment, to help anyone with scar tissue, fibrosis, adhesions and change in tissue health following surgery, burns, or accidents. At One Health Osteopathy Clinic, we specialise in caesarean section, hysterectomy, mastectomy and other surgical scars. Although we can help also with any swollen, restrictive and painful scars, along with helping more chronic scars, many years after surgery.

Scar therapy can be combined with LymphaTouch; a medical device to improve rehabilitation. This uses precisely controlled targeted negative pressure and high frequency vibration to break down scar restrictions, release tight fascia and increase lymphatic drainage. It is particularly useful for the management of post operative swelling and scarring, through improving scar pliability and appearance. Scar therapy is also combined with osteopathic treatment including soft tissue release, visceral mobilisation, breathwork and lymphatic massage techniques.

This treatment is safe to be used from 6 weeks following caesarean section or other surgery as long as the wound is healed, there is no infection, stitches have been removed and the scar is formed.
